Hi, I’m Anna. I love climbing, skitouring and discovering the outdoors, fuelled by plant-based foods. I am a scientist by training, having studied molecular medicine and completed a PhD developing novel small molecules for rare diseases. I love science, but more and more I realize that I believe in the power of our diet rather than drugs, in particular plant-based, to best support an active lifestyle and athletic performance, as well as viewing it as a massive opportunity in preventing chronic diseases.

Being also pregnant while starting this blog, I got more and more interested in unravelling the science behind a plant-based diet to stay healthy and fit. So with this blog I aim at sharing latest scientific studies and insights on how plant based foods can power athletic performance, in particular in women across different ages. While this is only an emergent field with a lot of unknowns still, I hope I can bring some clarity and maybe bust some of the occasional myth.

On top I want to share a little bit about my own experience and fun little recipes that are easy to make, delicious and can inspire to try some plant based foods fur fuelling.

I don’t think being 100% plant-based is the only way, but I certainly believe eating more plants can be beneficial for most people. An early motivation of mine to become mostly plant based however was not based on its health benefits, but more from my love for animals and nature (I have been vegetarian most of my life, as I played with most animals on my grandparents’ farm and did not want to eat them from very early on). Eating plant-based for me is not only a healthy option, but also an ethical and climate-friendly option, reducing the massive animal suffering in the meat industry. With that said, I hope you enjoy some of my writing, have fun trying new recipes and be curious about where it can take you!
